Hardware for Moscow Metro Inspection Checkpoints Will Cost 7 Billion Rubles

Inspection zones will begin their operation in the beginning of the next year on all Moscow Metro stations. The company will spend 7 billion rubles to purchase equipment and ensure the effective functioning of the new facilities. Half of the budget will go for the purchase of necessary equipment. It is reported that the new security system of Moscow Metro will be similar to the one installed in airports.

As of today, 60 Inspection checkpoints are ready for operation, by the end of the year, their number will increase to 294. Checkpoints will be equipped with X-ray baggage scanners and frame metal detectors. Simultaneously, the company is conducting training of future checkpoint employees. In order to keep up effective maintenance of Inspection zones, Moscow Metro will require about 3 million new employees.
