Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Will Hold Hearings on Aviation Security
In the next 10-15 days, Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation plans to hold a hearing on aviation security. The reason for this was the recent disaster in Vnukovo airport, reports "Transbez".
"Vnukovo is considered to be one of the best airports in Russia, along with other Moscow airports. It is necessary to be sure that this situation is not repeated," - said Vladislav Grib, first deputy secretary of the Civic Chamber.
During the take-off from Vnukovo airport, a plane carrying Cristophe de Margerie, president of French oil corporation Total S.A., crashed into a snow removal vehicle. Along with Christophe de Margerie, three crewmembers were killed. The tragedy occurred due to incompetent actions of snow removal vehicle operator, dispatcher’s error, pilot’s error; weather factor version is currently being investigated.
Dmitry Galochkin, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, told RUBEZH magazine about the issues he plans to discuss in the upcoming hearings: "I believe that it is necessary, at the level of law and legal documents, to regulate legal relations very clearly: rights and obligations, competencies and responsibilities of all parties – passengers, and services that provide aviation security, transportation companies and the state. It is important that passengers were aware of their rights and responsibilities, were properly informed and were aware of their responsibilities for compliance with aviation security rules. Moreover, it is very important to ensure that the staff is well trained in safety protocols, that people are following their work and rest hours, it is necessary to track their health: before work, and after, to prevent accidents like the one that recently occurred at Vnukovo. This should apply to pilots, dispatchers, every employee of aircraft structures. And, of course, it is necessary to regulate legal relationship concerning alcohol onboard aircraft."Источник: transbez.com
