Nizhny Novgorod will spend 14 billion rubles for the extension of subway line from station "Moskovskaya" to station "Strelka". To ensure the safety of passengers, the new station will have a number of facilities - rooms for baggage inspection, radio wave suppression system, video surveillance, and more.

It is reported that the start of construction works is scheduled for February next year. Project completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.

Company "Nizhegorodmetroproekt" has won the design competition. Prior to that, the company was working on the project of metro station "Gorkovskaya". At this stage, the "Strelka" project is going through the state expert evaluation procedure.

The new station will provide a large increase in the number of passengers - 25%. It is expected that during World Cup 2018, the load on metro transportation will increase by 47%. According to calculations, 25 to 30 thousand passengers will pass through the station every day.

It was announced that it would take approximately 2 minutes to travel from station "Moskovskaya" to station "Strelka".
