Ministry of Economic Development is to set up a unified public procurement information system by 2015

Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree according to which the Ministry of Economic Development shall have the functions for organization, development, management, and maintenance of the unified information procurement system. The new unified information system's portal is: www.zakupki.gov.ru.

The new system is created within the framework of the Federal contracting system, which comes into effect on January 1, 2014. In an interview to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" Vladimir Simonenko, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, said that the information system starts operating in 2015. This will allow to plan procurement for 2016 within the framework of the complete scheme.

Recent additions to the system will be introduced in 2017: the procurement system will be encoded through the identification code and the information system will perform automatic control of information that it contains.
