Ministry of Communications Intends to Increase the Share of Electronics Purchased in China

Russia is planning to increase the share of servers, storage systems and computer equipment purchased in China, as stated by Nikolai Nikiforov, Head of the Ministry of Communications in the negotiations with the Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China Miao Way and Tsai Fuchang, Head of the department.

This decision may be a backup for Russian companies that purchase electronic-component base (ECB) in Europe and the United States. However, there is no evidence that these distributors refused to export high-tech products to Russia.

According to the procurements plans for aerospace industry and military-industrial complex, the state plans to spend approximately $1 billion for Chinese ECB in the coming year. In case of signing additional agreements on expanding cooperation in this field, Chinese manufacturers will get additional funds, which are still used to purchase equipment and components from Europe and the United States.
