An Instruction on The Establishment of The Unified Transport and Logistics System is Signed

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the establishment of the "Unified Transport and Logistics Company" ("UTLS"). The company will be supported by "Russian Railways" with the participation of Belarusian and Kazakhstan Railways. The information was published on September 5 on the official portal of the Russian Federation Government.
According to press release, the new company will be engaged in the development of transport and logistics infrastructure of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The countries will use unified pricing policy principles, common technology and common standards of services. It is expected that the rolling stock will be used on the principle of mutual exploitation. "UTLS" will provide significant economic benefits for the shareholders and for the countries of the Common Economic Space.
According to the document, the shares of the “Centre of cargo container transportation “TransContainer” and "Railways Logistics" previously owned by "Russian Railways" will now be contributed to the charter capital of the new “UTLS” company.
“Russian Railways”, “Kazakhstan Railways” and “Belarusian Railways” will become shareholders of the new company. "Russian Railways" will contribute 50% +2 shares of “TransContainer” and 100% -1 share of “Russian Railways Logistics” into the new structure. Thus, the share of the Russian company will amount to 99.8% of the share capital of “UTLS”. Kazakhstan and Belarus companies will hold 0.1% of the shares.
