Expenses for “Safe City” Project in Kyrgyzstan Can Be Recovered within 10 years

According to Deputy Head of Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan Kursan Asanov, the "Safe City" project will be repaid in ten years in case of its successful implementation. The republic will need to allocate approximately 42-79 million dollars.
The project is based on public-private partnership and is aimed at optimizing the work of Road Patrol Service. Successful implementation of the project will allow to reduce the number of police officers on patrol duty.
In turn, deputy Ulukbek Kochkorov appealed to the Interior Ministry to take additional measures aimed at strengthening the fight against corruption in the ranks of Road Patrol Service. According to Kochkorov, fines for traffic violations have been raised, but there was no positive trend in the reduction of the number of accidents. "We saw only an increase of corruption", - added Kochkorov.
