Major Chinese weapons manufacturer China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) and non-commercial partnership GLONASS signed a memorandum of cooperation. Russian company and Chinese manufacturer intend to cooperate in several areas.

The companies plan to collectively design and manufacture high-tech microelectronics products, engage in the implementation of the "Silk Road" project - a set of navigation services for road transport. In addition, there are plans for the joint development of navigation equipment, which will bring together functionality of GLONASS and Beidou. Creation of Russian-Chinese enterprises in the field of satellite navigation Is also possible.

State Corporation Norinco, in addition to the production of small arms and other weapons is also engaged in co-operation with manufacturers that use Beidou technology. The visit of Norinco delegation to the capital and the signing of the document on cooperation was preceded by talks in Harbin.
