In Arkhangelsk 287 cameras installed as part of the "Safe city" project
It is planned to install almost three hundred surveillance cameras by the year 2018 In Arkhangelsk region. Major part of the budget will be spent on the project in Arkhangelsk (162 cameras), Severodvinsk and Kotlas (55 and 50 cameras).
The project will require tens of millions of rubles annually. According to Igor Ivanov, director of the regional department of information technology, more than 38 million rubles were allocated for the “Safe City” initiative.
The funds were spent to develop design and estimate documentation, to purchase equipment and to carry out its installation. Last year in Arkhangelsk, construction of a 27 km fiber optic network was completed and 58 cameras were installed, in Severodvinsk 20 cameras were mounted to monitor city’s entrances and exits.
The system already allows for recognition of license plates with further prospects of expanding analytical capabilities. In particular, the program is able to detect suspicious objects, to obtain data on the movement of vehicles, to detect deviant scenarios of typical events, mass gatherings, and to recognize faces.
The "Safe City" project is funded by the long-term regional program for public order maintenance with overall budget spent amounting to 318 million rubles.Источник: izvestia29.ru
