4.4 Trillion Roubles for Transportation Development in Moscow until 2020
On June 10, Sergey Sobyanin extended the state program “Transportation System Development for 2012-2016” until the year 2020. The program presupposes the increase in transportation system security, improvement of transportation services and their accessibility.
During the period of time from 2012 until 2020 4.4 trillion roubles have been granted for program implementation, 2.9 trillion roubles are to be granted by the municipal purse, 178.3 will come from the federal budget and about 1.4 trillion roubles from the investors. The funding will be directed at construction of new underground lines and stations, roads and railroads. Apart from that, the program presupposes extension of parking space and construction of passenger transfer hubs. It is planned that by the end of program implementation there will be 300 km of bicycle lanes and 18 000 bicycle parking facilities in the capital city.
